Canadian documents for use abroad may require an Apostille, a two-step process that begins with authentication at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) in Ottawa, now called Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (DFATD). Although the name has changed from DFAIT to DFATD, the submission process and mailing address remains the same.
