Embassy legalization, also known as apostille or attestation, refers to the process of having your Canadian documents first, authenticated at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) in Ottawa, now called Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (DFATD), and then legalized at the Embassy or Consulate of your destination country.
