How do I apostille my documents for Ecuador?

If you have Canadian documents that you need to use in Ecuador, you will need to “apostille” your documents at the appropriate government office in Canada. There are a few things to note about this process.

  1. The term “apostille” refers to the Hague Apostille Convention. Canada is a signatory to the Hague Apostille Convention and therefore, can issue apostilles.
  2. An apostille can be obtained from Global Affairs Canada or the appropriate provincial authority. This depends on where your documents were issued and/or notarized. Be careful to research the jurisdictions in advance, or your documents may be refused.
