About the UAE Police Clearance Certificate Process
Getting your Police Clearance Certificate from The UAE can be straight forward. It can be ordered in person in the UAE, online through the EDAS system, or you may apply through an agent in the UAE.
If you have your Emirates ID card, you should be exempt from having to prepare and submit a fingerprint form (C-216C).
Documents required for a UAE Police Clearance Certificate:
• current passport copy.
• Visa Cancellation page in your passport – need to have a residence visa (the red sticker/stamp).
• Copy of the Emirates ID used in the UAE (without this we will need fingerprints and the process will change).
• 1 x Passport Photograph (may be a scan).
• Confirmation of what language you want it issued in (Arabic or English).
• Confirmation of to whom the document is being presented.
We can certainly assist you with the application for your UAE Police Clearance Certificate. In some cases, we will need an original fingerprint form that has been notarized, authenticated, and legalized. We will not know until you let us know if you have the above documents and we have all the above sent to our agent for review. Generally, if you do not have an Emirates ID, or the visa stamp in your passport, we will also need the fingerprint form.

The Authentication & Legalization Process
To have a Canadian document recognized abroad, it must go through the authentication and legalization process. This allows acceptance in countries that are not members of the Hague Apostille Convention. The Canadian authentication and legalization process involves the following three steps.
Document Preparation
Preparing your document for the document authentication and legalization process can involve multiple steps including notarization, translation, and more.
Document Authentication
The document authentication process is the first step of the process to have your document officially recognized in another country that is not a signatory to the Hague Apostille Convention.
Document Legalization
The document legalization process is the last step of the process and involves having your document legalized by the embassy or consulate of the destination country.

If you have previously lived in the United Arab Emirates, you may be asked to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct from the UAE. You can apply yourself in the UAE, use your own representative in the UAE to apply on your behalf, or we can facilitate the application through an agent in The UAE.
You will be required to provide the following to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct:
- A copy of your current passport.
- A copy of the passport used in the UAE (with entry and exits stamps, and residence visa stamp).
- A copy of your Emirates ID Card – if you do not have this, we will need to process fingerprints as well (additional costs and time).
- Two photographs passport size (size: 4.8cm*3.8cm).
- If you are missing documents above, we may need a fingerprint form (C-216C) which will be done at a police station – it will need to be notarized, authenticated and legalized.
We would be happy to assist you with your Certificate of Good Conduct application. If you have further questions about the application process, feel free to contact our friendly staff.

If you are required to supply a legalized fingerprint form as a part of your application for the Police Clearance Certificate, the process may take longer. This is because of the time required to notarize, authenticate, and legalize the fingerprint form prior to applying for the certificate.
