Yes, we can certainly assist with the notarization, authentication, legalization, and translation of your documents for marriage in Vietnam. If you are getting married in Vietnam there are certain documents that you are required to provide. According to the Embassy of Vietnam in Canada, the documents required are:
- a passport copy, original long-form birth certificate, a provincial marriage search certificate, a Single Status Declaration, a medical certificate, and a divorce certificate and judgement (if previously divorced). All of these documents, except your birth certificate, need to be notarized.
- In case the applicant cannot go to Vietnam to submit all marriage documents or divorce papers in person, the applicant has to make a Power of Attorney (you can download from their website), certified by a Notary Public or Commissioner for Oath and fill out two Biography Information Sheets (you can download from their website) and two Applications for Marriage Registration (you can download from their website) with a recent photo attached to each form.

The first thing you need to know is that Canada has finally become a signatory of The Hague Apostille Convention. Your documents will need to be submitted to the appropriate apostille office in Canada. The apostille offices function on a jurisdictional basis, depending on where the documents originated.

Canada has signed the Hague Apostille Convention and it took effect January 2024. This means that the process has been streamlined to remove the need for diplomatic document legalization.
Canadian documents need to be apostilled by either Global Affairs Canada, located in Ottawa, or the appropriate provincial authority.
