Attestation, also known as apostille, or legalization, refers to the process of having your Canadian documents first, authenticated, sometimes at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) in Ottawa, now called Global Affairs Canada, and then legalized at the Embassy or Consulate of your destination country.
