Whether you are planning a destination wedding, studying abroad, or moving overseas, you will need to have your vital statistics documents, such as your birth, marriage, or death certificates, apostilled.

How can I apostille my birth, marriage, or death certificates?
To meet the criteria of the apostille process, you will need an original long-form certificate, such as a birth, marriage, or death certificate. Laminated, wallet-sized birth certificates cannot be apostilled unless they are first notarized as a true copy. Marriage certificates must be Provincial vital statistic issued version and not denominational certificates issued at time of marriage.
If you do not have your birth, marriage or death certificates, or they are not the correct format, you can easily order new ones. Most provinces provide an online service for ordering new vital statistics documents.
