The Islamic New Year is celebrated on the first day of the month of Muharram, the month in which Muhammad emigrated from Mecca to Medina. The Islamic New Year is usually spent with prayers, readings and reflection.
In observance of the Islamic New Year, the Embassies of Kuwait and the UAE will be closed on Friday October 16th, 2015. Consular services, such as legalization or attestation, will therefore be unavailable.
