As of May 2nd, 2016 documents originating from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) must be legalized at the Consulate of the UAE in Toronto. The Embassy of the UAE in Ottawa will no longer accept documents from the GTA.
Canadian documents, personal or commercial, that will be used in the UAE must first go through a specific process called authentication and legalization, also referred to as attestation. This process involves having the documents authenticated by Global Affairs Canada. Next, they must be submitted to the appropriate diplomatic mission of the UAE in Canada for legalization.
International Documents Canada (IDC) is Canada’s leading expert in authentication and legalization. We work with you to make sure your documents are prepared correctly and we can manage all aspects of the authentication and legalization process, often in as little as one day!
