Attestation/Apostille – Authentication and legalization of your Canadian educational documents for use in Qatar

Published on Thursday, October 17, 2013

For use in Qatar, it is necessary that your educational documents go through a process called authentication and legalization, also known as attestation or apostille. No matter which term is used, they all refer to the same process.

The authentication and legalization process enables your Canadian educational documents, such as University degrees and College diplomas, to be used in Qatar. This two-step process involves first, having your documents authenticated at the Department of Foreign Affairs. Next, they must be legalized at the Embassy of Qatar in Ottawa.

Global Affairs Canada and the Embassy of Qatar both have very specific requirements for the authentication and legalization of educational documents. For example, for the legalization of any University degree or College diploma, the Embassy of Qatar requires that your educational institution issue to them a sealed set of transcripts. Without the transcripts on hand the Embassy of Qatar will refuse your University degree or College diploma.

Our close relationship with Global Affairs Canada and the Embassy of Qatar ensures that these requirements are met and the processing of your documents is done right.
